Problem:
When programming my touch key with the 6150 software I get an error that says Error Data Touch.
Cause:
The blue dot reader is not plugged into the correct com port on the back of your PC. Please verify this connection is correct. The 6150 software automatically defaults to (com port 1) on your PC. The serial number in the 6150 unit and the serial number in the software do not match. The touch key itself may have corrupt data which could cause problems with data transfer. Your PC may need to be re-booted.
Solution:
Please verify that your blue dot key reader is correctly plugged into com port 1 on the back of your PC. Please check the serial number in the 6150 software and the serial number in the keypad to verify that they both match. If each serial number is different data transfer will not work. To check the serial number in the 6150 unit itself press 43* on the keypad, then enter the supervisor code. The screen will then display the serial number in the unit. If the actual touch key is suspected to be corrupt it will need to be replaced with a new key and re-programmed. Please re-boot your PC and re-program your touch key.
